A Passion for People
and for the Earth
Rooted in Faith.
Open to All.
Based in the heart of Larne in County Antrim, Drumalis sets out to accompany individuals and communities on a journey of faith, peace-building, and ecological awareness, drawing from the Passionist tradition while welcoming all who seek a more compassionate and sustainable world.
Drumalis has been an outreach of the Sisters of the Cross and Passion since 1930, a congregation of Religious Sisters founded in Manchester in 1852 by Elizabeth Prout (Mother Mary Joseph) with a particular zeal for ministry towards women from the working class communities and towards those on the margins of society.
Drumalis provides an idyllic setting for retreats, conferences, Chapters, training/development days, rest and recuperation opportunities for people from all parts of our community.
Drumalis is not just a place. It is an invitation. To pause. To ask. To grow. As it enters a new chapter, it becomes a bridge between tradition and transformation, welcoming the questions and the seekers of a new generation.
Our Guiding Commitments
Our strategic pillars reflect the heart of Drumalis - honouring our rich heritage while guiding the new possibilities ahead. They shape our mission, inspire our programmes, and strengthen our commitment to supporting people, healing communities, and caring for the Earth.
Faith
A welcoming space for people to explore, rethink, and deepen their spiritual lives. Open to people from across the Christian denominations, other faith backgrounds and to all those searching for meaning and purpose in their lives. We are particularly interested in understanding the role of faith in a community coming out of conflict.
Peace & Justice
Cultivating a culture of non-violence, reconciliation and human rights. Through dialogue, education and collaboration with faith, community, youth and civic partners, Drumalis supports conflict transformation and societal healing.
Care for Creation
Inspiring stewardship of the Earth through spirituality, sustainability and action. Drumalis combines retreats, education and practices with green, ethical operations, reflecting Laudato Si’ and global care-for-creation movements.
